JUDCon Conference [Amphi 139]

Scratch is a coding platform designed to teach coding. What if we could use it to develop enterprise business applications?

Scratch applications are small programs reacting to events providing a simplified yet powerful actor model. In this presentation we will show you how you can mix and match Scratch with Eclipse Vert.x, a popular toolkit for building event driven applications.

Combined with Vert.x that connects everything together we get a powerful development framework. This unleashes plenty of opportunities, including but not limited to multiplayer game development. We will demonstrate it with the creation step by step of a game mixing Scratch visual block programming with a bit of Java.

After this talk you will know enterprise block programming, a skill every modern developer should have.
