« Modern Event-Driven workloads with Apache Kafka and Knative Eventing »
10:40 - 11:30
JUDCon Conference [Amphi 139]

Apache Kafka has emerged as a leading platform for building real-time data pipelines and for high-throughput/low-latency messaging. With its scalable and distributed design, Apache Kafka is a good fit for platforms like Kubernetes. Knative, on the other hand, is a Kubernetes-based platform that comes with a set of building blocks to deploy and manage modern serverless workloads. In this session, we will give you a deep dive to Knative Eventing and walk you through an end-to-end demo, showing the lifecycle of an event-driven application that is based on Apache Kafka. You'll see how to integrate your serverless application with external events, and how to connect an application to an Apache Kafka backed firehose. If you are interested in learning about serverless developer experience on Kubernetes with Knative Eventing and Apache Kafka, this session is for you.
